Messier 14 - The Globular Cluster in Ophiuchus
Messier 12 is a yellowish globular cluster in the constellation Ophiuchus. And is located around 33.000 light-years away from our planet. Compared to other globular clusters, it is really massive, containing over a million stars. The weird thing about this globular cluster is that it is not really bright at all. only have a brightness magnitude of 5.7. Something you would not expect from such a massive cluster. It is also known for being the second most massive globular cluster in the Messier catalog. Messier 54 takes the first place.
I captured this during a Messier Marathon I did in August 2025.
