The “Galaxies of the Messier Catalog” poster is a collage featuring every galaxy from the famous Messier Catalog. I started this project in 2025, capturing each galaxy individually over the course of the year. Combined, the images add up to a total exposure time of 217 hours and 19 minutes!
After sharing this collage on my instagram, I received several requests from people asking if I would ever turn the collage into a poster they could hang in their hobby room, observatory, or use as inspiration for their own astrophotography journey. I truly appreciated those messages, and they motivated me to explore the possibilities of creating a high-quality poster print.
The past three weeks I spent time researching different types of poster paper and tested multiple prototypes to find the right balance between print quality, colour accuracy, and affordability. After several revisions, this is the final result!
The images featured on the collage itself was captured using my Askar 103APO, ZWO ASI2600MC Air cooled deep sky camera a Optolong UV/IR cut filter and an Optolong L-eNhance filter. The L-eNhance helped isolate the wavelengths of hydrogen alpha and Oyxgen III emission lines in hidden within these galaxies.
The poster is available in the following size:

Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate verifies that the print you receive is an original CVZ_Astro print, carefully crafted and inspected by myself to ensure a high quality standard.
