IC 405 - The Flaming Star nebula

from €39.00

The Flaming Star Nebula is one of the first nebulae I photographed using my ZWO ASI2600 Air cooled deep-sky camera. It fit the field of view of my camera and telescope so perfectly that I just had to capture it.

The nebula itself is located in the constellation Auriga, at a distance of 1,500 light-years from Earth. It glows due to the radiation from a single star, AE Aurigae, which can be found in the middle of the bluish reflection part of the nebula. It got its name from its flame-like appearance, which comes from the interactions between stellar winds and the surrounding dust and gas clouds.

To ensure the high quality prints perfectly match the digital image, I produced multiple prototypes using different types of photo paper and materials, and carefully refined the results. The final result is the best possible balance between detail, contrast and print quality.

Each print is produced in high quality on Fujifilm Glossy photo paper.

The image itself was captured using my Askar 103APO, ZWO ASI2600MC Air cooled deep sky camera and an Optolong L-eNhance filter. This filter helped isolate the wavelengths of hydrogen alpha and Oyxgen III emission lines in the nebula.

The print is available in the following sizes:

  • 30 × 45 cm (12 × 18 inches)

  • 50 × 75 cm (20 × 30 inches)

  • 70 × 105 cm (28 × 42 inches)

Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate verifies that the print you will receive is an original CVZ_Astro print, carefully crafted and inspected by myself to ensure a high quality standard.

I offer global delivery with parcel tracking, so you are always able to follow your order and be assured that it arrives in perfect condition.
