The Mythical Horse of Orion
Discover the mythical Horsehead Nebula, near the belt of Orion, with a high quality print on Fujifilm Lustre photo paper. The Horsehead is one of my favorite dark nebulae and it’s an object that I capture every year. But this year in 2025, after seeing the first images of the Euclid space telescope, I wanted to create something special… the Horsehead Nebula in vibrant magenta hues instead of its usual deep red hydrogen alpha glow. To ensure the final print perfectly matches the digital image, I produced multiple prototypes and carefully refined those results.
The image itself was captured using my Askar 103APO, ZWO ASI294MC PRO cooled deep sky camera and an Optolong L-Pro filter. This filter helped capture as much detail as possible of the Dark Horse while also revealing the beautifully glowing hydrogen
The print is available in the following sizes:
30 × 45 cm (12 × 18 inches)
50 × 75 cm (20 × 30 inches)
70 × 105 cm (28 × 42 inches)
Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate verifies that the print you receive is an original CVZ_Astro print, carefully crafted and inspected by myself to ensure a high quality standard.
